Privacy policy
Mail Vault. Effective October 4, 2026.
Who uses it
Mail Vault is a personal tool used only by its owner, Chris Mueller, on his own Google account. It is not offered to anyone else.
What it accesses
With the owner's permission, Mail Vault reads the owner's Gmail using Google's read-only
permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly). It cannot send, delete,
label or modify any email.
Where the data goes
- Email is copied from Google directly to the owner's own computer and stored there.
- Mail Vault has no server of its own. This website holds no email and collects nothing.
- When the owner asks an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude) a question, the specific emails needed to answer it are sent to that assistant at the owner's request. The mailbox as a whole is not.
- The owner can exclude senders entirely; excluded mail is never indexed or shown.
Sharing and sale
Data is never sold, never shared with advertisers or data brokers, and never used for advertising. Use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections. Deleting the local copy removes the data entirely.
